I love their app on apple tv. Can watch prime, hbo, viaplay, sumo, dplay via their app. The last three are local apps here, with various sports and movies. Only netflix and nrk (local app) refuse to have their shows on Apple next.

You can go to separate apps as well on apple tv, but once I got used to the all in one method, separate apps seemed old fashioned. Probably watch less netflix because of this.

There are also all the itunes movies there to buy or rent.
We can take this elsewhere if there's a thread for Apple or AppleTV, but, if I click on "Clone Wars", for instance, it tells me it's on Disney+, which I then click on the link, and it either downloads Disney+ if I don't have the app, or, opens it if I do...Just feels largely redundant to me when I could skip all that and just open Disney+.

Anyway, I'm using it either on an iPad and/or a Roku TV. What I've described perhaps plays out differently on an AppleTV
It probably does, although I don’t know if Disney has gone the hbo/prime route with integration, or the netflix one.

Still it’s great that you can find everything in one place, instead of going to many apps to search.

Glad you prefer it, my friend. So long as you enjoy it, that's all that matters.
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

It's great you can find everything in one place, provided you have subscriptions to all of those services.

How does 5.1 translate to a 7.1 system? Be as technical or general as you care to be.
5.1 is two front speakers (left & right), two rear surround speakers (left & right), a center channel, and a subwoofer (that's the .1).

7.1 is the same, but it adds two more surround channels that are in between the mains and the rear surrounds. Personally I don't have the room for 7.1 and imagine that unless you have more of a true home theater room as opposed to just a living room, the returns on 7.1 vs. 5.1 aren't worth the extra effort and cost.

Atmos is a move away from the directional, stereo limitations of current 5.1 and 7.1 systems. It incorporates ceiling speakers and a different approach to mixing soundtracks that aren't limited by five or seven positional speakers. Sound is able to "travel" more organically and create a true soundscape as opposed to being limited by traditional left and right channels.
I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd.

Sure, but you can choose away whichever you don’t want, or don’t subscribe to.

Exactly. It's not redundant at all. All you have to do is type what you want into the main apple search tool and click play, provided you have what you're looking for in any of your apps. And if you don't, it tells you where you can get it.

Listening today...it almost sounds like a different Ed recording than the album. Probably because I’m just watching on TV without a special sound system because the end of DOTC was different for sure.

The vocal recording just sounds a little different from the album. Like I said, could be because I don’t have a proper setup for this but that’s just what I hear. I know Ed is turned up a lot more but slight differences.

Do you have the Apple TV app on your Mac?
I think you need the latest macOS (Catalina) to get the Apple TV app.
Also make sure you search gigaton as a search for pearl jam does not list it.

I think this was the core of the decision.

In case you enjoyed the amped up vocals of this mix and wanted to own it, it is now for sale for $12.99 on the itunes store: https://geo.itunes.apple.com/us/movie/g ... 71918?mt=6.

It looks like there’s an option to listen without Dolby Atmos now.

Love the visuals, but would have been cool if it also included some interviews with the band.
