Which was exactly the point of the article.

It was a very good article. It was well done.
The uproar about the cover really was greatly overblown.

So are we all in agreement that Rolling Stone's writeup of the Pearl Jam tour was more shitty than their coverage of the Boston Bombings?

That was actually a really good article, regardless of the picture.

Sorry to be dense, but could someone point me to where it says any of the fall shows are "An evening with..."?

I haven't read that anywhere either, I think people are whipping themselves into a state of unhinged over-excitement right now for whatever reason.

I would guess that they have yet to solidify an opener for various dates, it does tend to happen well after the act of announcing a tour.

solace told me about midlake opening just a couple shows and mudhoney just a couple and then said the rest was an "evening with..." about a month ago i think...

NO word from anyone else, but then I looked at pj.com yesterday and sure enough, user solace was spot on about the openers and a couple dates out west...

So....

So... their information is about as solid as the band's and not knowing is still not knowing?

Look at Calgary and Vancouver.
One says w/ mudhoney and the other says with mudhoney.

I sense a conspiracy

But, yo. Not have an opener listed is not the same as being billed as "an evening with..".

Have they ever waited until less then a month till the first show to announce an opener? it seems kinda strange to wait so long if they are gonna bring someone along with them, but I've really never paid attention before

In 2009 Ted Leo and Bad Religion were announced within weeks of the Toronto/Chicago shows.

Is there any chance for a second Seattle show still? I know the initial rumours were Dec 6/7 way back before the tour was even announced.

Yeah, I liked Pearl Jam better when they hated all politicians, which is really the only correct answer.
Libertarianism or Anarchism? Na.
