The Chronological Ride: TVG watches the entire saga.
Ey guys!
So today Amazon Prime gifted me with the entire saga. Yes all of them. Even Rogue One. So, im doing what i always meant and never did...watch them in chronological order with R1 and the sequels. I'll start today with The Phantom Menace, a movie i haven't seen since the theatre release.
Im really exited about this trip, i'll get emotional, happy and angry.

When I ever do this, I'm gonna do it in the order that has the prequels as a flashback.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

I've never watched them in that order but I really want to.wease wrote:When I ever do this, I'm gonna do it in the order that has the prequels as a flashback.
Would you start with Rogue One, though?

Yep. Or even Solo, I guess. R1 would have to be right in front of SW, tho.durdencommatyler wrote:I've never watched them in that order but I really want to.wease wrote:When I ever do this, I'm gonna do it in the order that has the prequels as a flashback.

I feel like I personally would leave Solo out. Definitely start with R1, though.wease wrote:Yep. Or even Solo, I guess. I would do it and Rebels, but probably after the movies and The Mandalorian.durdencommatyler wrote:What about TCW?wease wrote:The completist in me would not let me skip Solo.durdencommatyler wrote:I feel like I personally would leave Solo out. I haven't done a search... I wonder if there's an Ahsoka playlist of TCW eps. Like, trim all the fat on others and just focus on her. I would maybe do that between Attack and Sith. Could be cool.

The Phantom Menace.
LAST TIME I SAW IT: the premiere in 1999. I saw it twice on a theatre, anxious as hell for the new star wars movie. What i got, whats so different...i kinda hated the movie but i wasnt until i got the second one that i realize that. At the time, i though it was fine i guess.
RIGHT NOW: I appreciate what Lucas is trying here. Right off the bat, it shocks you with huge digital designs, pretty much every backdrop is digital and it looks that way. It hasnt aged well really, but there are some beautiful ones, like Naboo. Neeson and McGregor are so good...but i wish they were utilized better.
Portman is good too, her delivers are weird, but she is fine. Im surprised on how awful the rubber characters are...the two guys from the trade federation look awful. A guy from Tatooine, too. It kinda painful to watch. But there is some magic too, everything with Sidious and Maul is great. The C3PO introduction with R2 is pure magic. I love it so much.
Jake Lloyd is good here. He really captures Anakin as a vert sweet and good hearted kid. Its really sad to see his performance knowing his fate. I kinda get why Lucas chose to start with Anakin as a kid now.

Ok Midiclorians...i hated it back then, now knowing Sidious is behind this it doesnt bother me. I wonder if Sidious knows these jedis are going to take Anakin.

Jar Jar....whats to say? Every comedic turn is embarrassing. I wonder if the rumor of him becoming the bad guy is true. It would turn those C3PO comments on Tatooine for sure.
