SoH
Evacuation
Insignificance
NAIS
Of the Girl
Rival
I think every one of those is better than Grievance. Breakerfall, Parting Ways, Gods’ Dice, and Light Years all have an argument too.

After looking through the remaining options, these look like the best choices. The picking gets slim based on the progression.
1. Go*
2. Hail, Hail*
3. Dance of the Clairvoyants
4. Tremor Christ*
5. Black
6. Parachutes
7. Do The Evolution
8. You Are
9. Grievance
10. Force of Nature*
11. Yellow Moon*
12. Immortality

2. Hail, Hail*
3. Dance of the Clairvoyants
4. Tremor Christ*
5. Black
6. Parachutes
7. Do The Evolution

Other than Yellow Moon, that's a pretty good album .PHATJ wrote:After looking through the remaining options, these look like the best choices. The picking gets slim based on the progression.

Yeah, there were gonna be two crappy songs no matter what. But the flow of this could be cool. And I can’t find a way right now to come up with anything better.Monkey_Driven wrote:Other than Yellow Moon, that's a pretty good album .PHATJ wrote:After looking through the remaining options, these look like the best choices. You could go Marker in the Sand and Jeremy instead of Black and Parachutes. That was probably the only real close decision based on the options.PHATJ wrote:Yeah, there were gonna be two crappy songs no matter what. But the flow of this could be cool. Of the Girl and Get Right could be traded out for You Are and Grievance, but it looks like Grievance is a done deal. I’d rather have Of the Girl and Get Right, I think. But that’s close too. You Are is great. *shrug*PHATJ wrote:You could go Marker in the Sand and Jeremy instead of Black and Parachutes. Re: Building the "Ultimate" PJ Album: TRACK NINE
If we could start at scratch, this was probably the coolest record we could’ve made. The flow on this works really well from track to track. Every album is well represented with one of its signature songs. It has a good mix of rockers, and more delicate songs. It has an interesting running narrative. I’d gladly listen to this mix, and I’d feel pretty confident handing it to a PJ virgin.
1. Brain of J. - Yield
2. Got Some - Backspacer
3. Daughter - Vs.
4. Quick Escape - Gigaton
5. Nothing As It Seems - Binaural
6. Jeremy - Ten
7. Pendulum - Lighting Bolt
8. Corduroy - Vitalogy
9. Get Right - Riot Act
10. Present Tense - No Code
11. Army Reserve - Avocado
12. Immortality - Vitalogy

This is it. the only duds are FoN and YM. The rest are all great. Though Immortality would've fit better after The End.PHATJ wrote:After looking through the remaining options, these look like the best choices. The picking gets slim based on the progression.

Trying to think of some alternate scenarios. I kind of like the flow if you put Hail, Hail into No Way, although it would be hard to leave off Dance and DTE.

I love "Grievance". I'm not sure they've made as good a rocker since.

But why Grievance over Insignificance and NAIS?

I love both of those songs but I like "Grievance" more. It's got more interesting parts, and a more exciting overall arc

Re: Building the "Ultimate" PJ Album: TRACK NINE
The only 2 Binaural songs I may like better than "Grievance" are "Sleight of Hand" (already lost) and "Evacuation" (is about to lose to "Dance of the Clairvoyants") so "Grievance" it is

Re: Building the "Ultimate" PJ Album: TRACK NINE
"Grievance," love it though I do, wouldn't have been my top Binaural pick (that would have been "Sleight of Hand"), but based on what's left it's a good choice.
That said, it's probably the best track 9. I like a lot of the other songs but none of them feel ULTIMATE.
