But up against that set of songs, Black is the easy vote.
If we don’t vote for Black, Jeremy or Porch will be the choice.

Dance will likely be 3, and DTE 7. So it comes down to Wanting Black/Parachutes or Marker/Jeremy.
I like both Jeremy and Porch more than Black.
I definitely don’t like Porch nearly as much as Black or Jeremy. It’s probably dead last on Ten for me.
And the 8 spot absolutely should go to You Are. Best song on Riot Act, and a very cool song to add to the collection.

I think we have a pretty different view of what are PJ’s best songs
PHATJ wrote:If we could start at scratch, this was probably the coolest record we could’ve made. The flow on this works really well from track to track. Every album is well represented with one of its signature songs. It has a good mix of rockers, and more delicate songs. It has an interesting running narrative. I’d gladly listen to this mix, and I’d feel pretty confident handing it to a PJ virgin.

1. Brain of J. - Yield
2. Got Some - Backspacer
3. Daughter - Vs.
4. Quick Escape - Gigaton
5. Nothing As It Seems - Binaural
6. Jeremy - Ten
7. Pendulum - Lighting Bolt
8. Corduroy - Vitalogy
9. Get Right - Riot Act
10. Present Tense - No Code
11. Army Reserve - Avocado
12. Immortality - Vitalogy

It’s a good song, but Parachutes is better.

Yeah. Black to me is the most worn out Pearl Jam song. If I were new to the band and not nearly 30 years in I would be all about this song, but I feel like more than even Even Flow that this song has just played itself out. I did feel like that with Even Flow for a while but I feel like the Home Shows and focus on homelessness somehow added new depth and a renaissance for the song. Rooting for Black is like rooting for Michael Jordan or Wayne Gretzky.
