Sounds a bit more raw than Backspacer. It could be because the quality isn't the best; hell, these might be demos (although I doubt it).

Getaway is quite good. LB is better than live version.

getaway on the first listen felt like a less sleezy johnny guitar and lightning bolt is the bastard child of unthought known and given to fly, but given to fly refuses to accept that it's the father

What was your initial impression of LB after having heard the live version, warts and all? How do they compare?

the fade out is gonna piss me off. the solos felt less prominent, but the song felt tighter. It is good. Way too early to tell if it will feel light

So far I am holding tight and only listening to Lightning Bolt. Still undecided on listening to the others. But pleasantly surprised with how much I liked Lightning Bolt as compared to Wrigley. Liked hearing some of the studio tweaks on it. Definitely wish the song extended out though and didn't fade away. This is where I think BOB will bother me in looking for shorter and concise...fading out the songs cuts away the ability to let it soar to a finish. Good first impression overall though!

Okay.

So the four songs are ok. Nothing is grabbing me tbh, but I'm not going to pass final judgement due to the quality of the rip.

Getaway is fine. LB is the best (better than live versions). Records is ok. Swallowed Whole is plodding and boring.

edit: ok I was too hasty on Swallowed Whole. This is quite good...what a solo!
