I had no choice but to, Dev. It pushed me, because it pissed me off. Anger can make me pedal. Wednesday, a car pulled up behind me and wailed on the horn as it passed. Didn't scare me like he wanted to, but I woulda dragged his ass outta that car and taught him a lesson in violence he would not have soon forgot if...that was the best ride of the week.

You're welcome. You got a spare tube, too? That is the other half of the equation.

Biked home in a bit of a snowstorm last night. My phone tells me I did 66km. My ankle has been giving me issues when I bike lately. I hope that resolves sooner than later.

Did my first black diamond in a long time. It was fun. I have a 29" hardtail, it runs fast. Had to walk one set of switchbacks, too technical and steep for me. I used to be able to ride it but neither my skills nor confidence are there and most likely never will be again.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Neither of us are... Actually my tires work tubeless... And I woke up to a flat on my bike today... But I don't know how to set em up, and I figure you gotta buy more shit to run em that way. Eh, I should probably look into it.

mine came with tubes but tubeless ready, and i had the bike shop convert them (evidently it's not terribly difficult, but is messy with the sealing goo that they use). i like the peace of mind knowing that unless i really puncture them, i will never be stranded (and i don't have to lug around a new tube with me).

I gave my bike away last summer when I left Montreal. It was a hybrid, which ended up kind of being the worst of both worlds. It was too heavy to go fast and not hardy enough to go anywhere beyond the most evenly graded dirt roads. I'm in the market for a new bike now, but I don't know what I want.

I feel like you got this post exactly wrong. Best of both worlds bottom line. Maybe you had a shitty bike? What was it? Why did you give it away? I mean I was racing my buddies road bike the other day and I had to work like a dog to keep up, but my bike basically glides on anything and I love that. I am pretty fast wherever I go with it. It transitions from the highway to a farmers field in a moment. And when I am off road I am never really limited. I feel like I could basically mountain bike with it although it wouldn't be perfect.

Eh, it sounds to me like you want to go fast. Buy a road bike and stay on the pavement. Should be plenty fun.

I'm a little scared of going fast, to be honest. I never wear a helmet.

And I gave it away because that seems to be what I do when I move. I shed things. I gave away a few hundred dollars worth of furniture when I moved up to Montreal.

I do like the idea of a lighter bike, though, because I live in a land of many hills
