I guess they are still putting together the final two eps of The Last Dance. Director's last interview is with Stockton out in Spokane a week from now, and still editing to be done.

Re: NBA Thread
I’m through E5 now and it strikes me as really strange how they marketed this so heavily as a documentary about the 1998 Bulls.
This is an unprecedented deep dive into the life/career of Michael Jordan and there just happen to be these other people along the way that make the story more interesting. Sure it’s a lot of Phil Jackson, Jerry Krause, Pippen, Rodman, etc. Lots of non-Bulls obviously like Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, etc., too.
Weird that they didn’t market it differently.

Re: NBA Thread
It’s funny how Jordan didn’t even consider the possibility of meeting the Knicks - a team that would reach the NBA Finals the following year - in the 1998 playoffs.

Re: NBA Thread
Why didn't they show Scottie dunking on Ewing and telling Spike to sit his ass down? That's an iconic sequence from the Bulls/Knicks battles. Did Spike nix it somehow in exchange for his participating in the boring shoe stuff in EP 5?
5 was weakest so far. 6 was a bit better. Best is yet to come though I think.

I was unaware of this Jordan/Thomas hate.
Watch film of them playing in All Star games together - they were fantastic as teammates.

I’ve already established that this is an MJ doc, not a Bulls doc.verb_to_trust wrote:Why didn't they show Scottie dunking on Ewing and telling Spike to sit his ass down? That's an iconic sequence from the Bulls/Knicks battles.

I am!! I’m saying it’s weird they marketed as a ‘98 Bulls doc because it is not that.verb_to_trust wrote:MJ is the greatest athlete of all time. It's about 98. To understand 98 you have to see what came before The ShotBammer wrote:I am!! IT’S NOT TOO MUCH JORDAN. IT IS , AND SHOULD BE, ABOUT JORDAN. THE MARKETING ANGLE IS WEIRD.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:it’s interesting...i disagree with bammer that it focuses too much on jordanAnders wrote:I might watch this documentary. Jordan truly was a great and dominant player.

Re: NBA Thread
but there’s been a lot of time devoted to backstories on Rodman, Pippen, Phil, Krause, Kukoc etc...even if it’s been framed more around jordanBammer wrote:IT’S NOT TOO MUCH JORDAN.
