Hey I watched alot of it the last time
first ya had China (with a bunch of kids who barely even knew the game) holding Japan to 4 runs, then upsetting Chinese-Taipai
but the best was watching the Netherlands, with Russel Simon being the only one on the team with big league experience (and his biggest claim to fame is hitting a racing sausage in the head) first, beating the Dominican Republic 3-2, holding their own but eventually losing to Puerto Rico 3-1, to get a 2nd match up against the Dominican, and beating them AGAIN 2-1, and that Dominican team was loaded, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_World ... n_Republic
would be great to see this grow to a point of Soccer's World Cup, but itll probably never happen because of the pitching problems.
Brazil already knocked Panama out of this years tournament in a qualifying match in November... for this years WBC?

was just looking at the 16 teams in this yearscutuphalfdead wrote:I watched it last time too. But no one is ever looking forward to the WBC.
Central/South America - 6 (unless you want to put the Netherlands here)
Pacific/Asia - 5
Europe - 3 (unless you put the Netherlands in Central/South America)
Rest - 2 (Canada and the U.S.)
but with Great Britain, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Israel, South Africa, Philippines, Thailand and New Zealand all in qualifier's this time, it has grown to more of a world feel (ya also had Panama, Nicaragua, and Colombia knocked out already
okay so maybe im just sick of winter and ready for any baseball

Re: MLB
The WBC is ok, it's not great, but it's the best baseball being played at the time it's being played. I'd rather watch a WBC game with a legit baseball nation playing another than any spring training game.

Re: MLB
The Take On Me sing along is fucking awesome because it's natural and is tied to a player. The Sweet Caroline sing along is forced and done with obliviousness to what is actually happening on the field.

I understand completely.numbers wrote:There arent really words to describe how much I hate the Sweet Caroline sing along. It's everything that's wrong with the fanbase and typifies what a Fenway crowd has become.
