They're 128kbs mp3s but it's worth a listen or two to get a first impression.Birds in Hell wrote:If the quality on these isn't so hot, I might give them a miss for now.

Yeah I was expecting Getaway to be your standard PJ rockin' opener, but it really isn't.stip wrote:given that these are the fast songs it's a much less aggressive record than I was expecting given MYM. LTRP is wry, not angry. Same thing with getaway

The only reason I wonder if we're getting more tracks is b/c on some of these they fade into the next song on the album, which a promo sampler prolly wouldn't do.

swallowed whole
I can feel the dawn/I can feel the earth/I can feel the living all around, round round round
Continues in that vein. some lyrics are pretty good, but definitely this kind of new age feel.

How do you know this? Can you tell other songs are coming in as one fades out?Iowaska_Experience wrote:The only reason I wonder if we're getting more tracks is b/c on some of these they fade into the next song on the album, which a promo sampler prolly wouldn't do.

So kind of a new-agey religious vibe then. They should've put a bit of sitar on that.stip wrote:swallowed whole

Ok, I know it's WAY early, but LTRP may be my new fav PJ song of the post-Binaural era.

I'll inevitably end up being too irritated by the quality to really enjoy the songs. I think I'll wait for FLACs (even if that means I'll be waiting a while).stip wrote:it's not great.Birds in Hell wrote:If the quality on these isn't so hot, I might give them a miss for now.

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
There is some new guitar at end of LB that seems like it's the beginning of the next track (Infallible). Plus it's kinda weird that SW is track 5 and LTRP is track 3, since LTRP comes after it on the album.harmless wrote:How do you know this? Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
I have the same impression of LB that i did from the live version. I hate the verses/bridge. The you gotta know youll never let her go and the solo from 1.13 are the best parts and Ed sounds kinda rough, especially towards the end. I like the drums under the first 'then she comes to be with her newly planted seeds' etc etc. But they don't come back i think.

maybe. it'll be a few more listens before I start honing in on lyrics. But the sex stuff in getaway seems to be more about us feeling like we can fuck the world.harmless wrote:So kind of a new-agey religious vibe then. They should've put a bit of sitar on that.stip wrote:swallowed whole
