In this case the hurricane is currently in both of those places, and also everywhere else. And we’re having a hard time tracking the progress, impact, and locations of the many, many hurricanes, because we refuse to take the steps that other nations have used to successfully do so. They shelter when there is a local hurricane.

This was the weakest part of the metaphor anyway, because in a hurricane sheltering isn’t a preventative maneuver....only a reactive one. You can’t change the intensity of a hurricane by sheltering in place, but you can change the intensity of the outbreak. So double win in this scenario I guess.

They also differentiate between a hurricane and a rain storm.

They also can’t willfully turn a rainstorm into a hurricane by refusing to shelter in place, which is what we are now achieving.

i went to the beach sunday

it's nice now bc it is entirely acceptable to openly be a dick if someone tries to sit too close to you

no more pretending

no more passive aggressive looks and harrumphing

now just actually aggressive looks and hand waving and loud direction to go away
