Johnny Guitar, Got Some, Force Of Nature are my favorites. Not a fan of The Fixer lyrics, but like the music.

The bottom half is fairly weak. Really don’t like GSMF.

GSMF is a pretty cool song...the production doesnt give it any favors. Imagine that song with the sound of Who Ever Said.

Think Who Ever Said would be better with the Binaural production actually. But most of Gigaton sounds perfectly produced.

GSMF is my least favorite Backspacer song, so doubt it would be good on Gigaton either.

I would love to hear Matt's drums on GSMF with the production of Gigaton.
The same with the guitars.

I think my list would literally be the opposite, although I would also keep The End.

I think GSMF has a charm as a cartoon grunge song

it's bright and "fun" and the chorus takes the stereotypical AIC or Nirvana shaped chorus but turns it into "I'm gonna see my friend" instead of "I'm gonna end my life"

I also always liked the lyrics at the start of GSMF: "d'you wanna hear something sick? we are but victims of desire; I'm gonna shake this day, I wanna shake this day before I retire"

amongst the best lyrics on the album (if they're even correct, every website has different ones)

another cool thing about GSMF: it keeps changing keys / registers; I much prefer the lower, but I do like how it winds in and out of them

I think it's ultimately successful to me for the way it very deliberately parodies grunge; the story is about someone going to get a hit from a dealer, but that hit may be just venting to a friend

this is how PJ should be doing "fun", there's a wit and a self-awareness about it

maybe my reaction to "Johnny Guitar is hilarious!" type posts is so extreme because to me, this is the real funny song on Backspacer

I think "Got Some" would work a lot better if it just continued that drug dealer metaphor and left it ambiguous as to what "some" is, but instead we get "diplomatic resolve" and it's parody in a bad way

I know this sounds like a yawningly predictable thing to say but Backspacer feels better now that Gigaton has happened
