Re: Building the "Ultimate" PJ Album: TRACK SIX
This thing is begging for a disc 2, especially if it is going to be the Ultimate. After the last round, put all eliminated songs back on the table and repeat. Perhaps, as some have suggested, even allow a lost dog to find a home on it.

The only thing more surprising than seeing some of these track selections was reading this today:

Re: Building the "Ultimate" PJ Album: TRACK SIX
I sketched one out this morning, just leaving out Backspacer and LB entirely.Farmer John wrote:What would be your track list?
1. Can't Keep - Riot Act
2. Sad - Lost Dogs
3. Dance of the Clairvoyants - Gigaton
4. Given to Fly - Yield
5. Nothingman - Vitalogy
6. Off He Goes - No Code
7. Insignificance - Binaural
8. Rearviewmirror - Vs.
9. Gone - ST
10.
11. Release - Ten
12. ???
The form really restricts it because this band has been extremely hit or miss since 1998 but I'd take this over the current mix. For my money it has more standout tracks, whereas the current project is a lot of middle tier stuff.

I don't love the sequencing, fwiw, especially Release as penultimate track and the Nothingman/Off He Goes drag in the middle, but put this on shuffle and it's a better experience.

"Gone" is one of their worst songs

This is my third time running this exercise on a music forum (first with Pearl Jam) and it's fun but it never ever yields a satisfying album. Democracy doesn't work

I'm trying to do my own and that 9 spot really is a black hole. Throws a wrench into all of my sequences once I get to it.

I've tried doing this but I can't pick a Lightning Bolt song I'd be happy with.
Every other record I can manage something at least.

Track 12 will only comprise songs that haven't been voted on, so all post-11 tracks
