about getaway: now i've only listened once, at a relatively low volume through my work laptop's speakers, but is that a bit of actual groove i'm hearing there?

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
Swallowed whole features a full bodied hippy vedder. As far as i can tell. 'I could be the sun i could be the sound'. Though there's parts about drowning and 'what lies beyond the grave might be welcome shade' . At 2.06 there's about 5 seconds of interesting music where i thought it was gonna go all 'end of the road on us.
Ed sounds kinda rough to me on all of these but i don't know how much of that it just the quality of the tracks. And he's a lot louder than the music to me, but i thought that about backspacer. Do we think this is a promo cd? These would be the final versions si?
Yep Getaway is still winning.

McP is still right--how we feel about these in 6 months will tell us how good they really are.
But in the meantime I plan to enjoy myself immensely while I make up my mind

I think these were all the least interesting sounding songs from the discriptions. All the songs we have left are the ones i was excited for. Bar FD, and maybe SBM but ill give it a shot.

Eddie sounds good on all this stuff. The crackly stuff on backspacer and S/T that turned a lot of people off seems to be gone (and these would be the songs they'd appear on). And the over enunciation stuff isn't really there either. He's very smooth.

didn't one of the reviewers say that getaway was about as fast as MYM? not even close.. maybe i'm mis-remembering reading that though..stupidmop wrote:Aw yeah it is.dprival78 wrote:about getaway: now i've only listened once, at a relatively low volume through my work laptop's speakers, but is that a bit of actual groove i'm hearing there?

And does my getaway version sounds close to the original? Would really like to hear those if someone wants to give me the gmail details

MLB makes sense for what you say, however, LB also could just mean Lightning Bolt and who knows what the m meansIowaska_Experience wrote:stupidmop wrote:Swallowed whole features a full bodied hippy vedder. Another review said it had the same energy but wasn't nearly as fast. That's the review I trusted. Sometimes people use the word 'fast' as a stand-in for the sentiment 'OMG this song made me wet my pants.'dprival78 wrote:didn't one of the reviewers say that getaway was about as fast as MYM? not even close.. maybe i'm mis-remembering reading that though..stupidmop wrote:Aw yeah it is.dprival78 wrote:about getaway: now i've only listened once, at a relatively low volume through my work laptop's speakers, but is that a bit of actual groove i'm hearing there?

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
on the first time through, the vocal laying in the first verse seemed a bit over the top and unnecessary to me. but after a couple times through, it's not bad.stip wrote:guys, I think I love lightning bolt. Chorus and all.
i came to really like the live version of this one, and the studio version hasn't changed that.
