More than a leak, I need the new Roots/Costello album out so I can be momentarily distracted from this.

Really, I am an unequivocal positive fan who chomps at the bit at these things. I was way calmer in the lead up to Backspacer.

It's not really fair to compare Getaway to Johnny Guitar, right? Read that somewhere. Like it a lot on a first listen!

Like I said: LB album version is better than live

Not really feeling the LTRP fit in with the other songs. It's really something else. Ed's vocals sound distorted sang through a vocal-effect mic

Swallowed Whole is nice too

I can't get past how much like a solo Pete track LB is, on record.

I think all of these songs have elements/moments that I like. Getaway has a decent chorus, Lightning Bolt makes me want to listen to Pete, Let the Records Play....the cheeseball groove sounds good under the solo, anyway. And the chorus reminds me of a muppet song or something. Swallowed Whole has a good chorus, too, and though I'll never get past the heavy lift of the Thin Air bridge for the verse's primary hook, that song might be the one in the group that I still want to listen to three weeks from now.

I liked that one. It certainly tops "we've all been thinking with our different brains," or whatever he says.

The whole second half of that song is strong, and it's mostly Ed's delivery of lines like that one and "for god's sake!"
