I'll post some nonsense that someone posted 3 posts ago, but even I won't post tweets without the tweet code.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
Finally saw this. It was OK, definitely finished stronger than it started. But the first 1/3-1/2 seemed to involve an endless string of plot devices that had no context to the bigger story other than to write their way toward an ending.
I have to say that overall they could have done a much better job with this trilogy. There are scenes and elements throughout the films that work, but as a whole the trilogy is just kinda there. So much of it is rehashed and meant to pull on the nostalgia strings that it borders on embarrassing, and makes you realize where your SW fandom starts and ends.
Also, the actors were really not the greatest. Neither were the actors in the original trilogy, but I think they were able to get away with it because those movies at the time were captivating, and watching this new universe come into being made you forget about things like great acting. In fact, you could say that someone like Sir Alec Guinness stands out as being too good an actor for the material. Now that we’ve seen all this stuff a million times, it takes a little more effort to create something original and equally captivating.
Rogue One and Mandalorian are far superior to the final trilogy. The final trilogy should have been put into the hands of someone who had a cohesive vision for all three movies.

Disagree that it means nothing to any of the characters.

Jesus, I hate people writing an article via twitter. Even if I agree with their point, they're wrong.Monkey_Driven wrote:Could not agree with this thread more...

I think there is a big difference. We are talking amongst friends here. To post something like that on Twitter it’s either to annoy people or just get attention. Or both
