Probably not happen. I still can't get a refund on some NBA tix and they're not doing those with fans for sure.

Picking this album up after work. I'll let you guys know how the rest is.
He's going to have to move my June 20 date for sure. Probably until next year. Definitely going to get a refund, maybe check it out down the road if life makes sense again.

Small venues are so fucked. Codfish Hollow already has a GoFundMe up and it's only been a few months

Indeed, most businesses cannot take an entire year of revenue away and survive.

Album is good but there nothing that blows me away besides maybe St. Peter's Autograph but need to listen more. That one, Creamsicle and River are the standout tracks. I prefer Overseas acoustic but is solid. Letting you Go is good too but reminds me of a George Straight type of country song I heard riding in the car with my mom as a little kid. Isbell does show off his guitar chops a bit more than the last couple. Album feels a little short. Maybe one or two more solid tracks would put it over the top.

UPDATE i picked it up this morning. really strong album other than "what have i done to help." nice of him to put that first so you can just get it out of the way.

overseas and dreamsicle are the standouts so far. letting you go is so close to being great...last verse is kind of a let down.

something that jumps out is how the rockers have a looseness that's been missing since the s/t album. sounds like he's having fun playing guitar again and not trying to win americana songwriter of the year with every song.

the download with the album doesn't work yet apparently.

It is growing on me more. As mentioned a few posts back I'm just skipping track 1. River and St. Peter's Autograph are growing on me most and Letting You Go is as well. Hard to write a song like Letting You Go without it being kinda cheesy but it is better than I initially thought.

trouble in paradise?

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/11/arts ... nions.html
A couple of weeks into coronavirus-compelled self-quarantine at his home on a rolling patch of land 30 minutes south of Nashville, Jason Isbell did something he hadn’t done in more than eight years.

That morning, he’d been arguing with his wife, the singer-songwriter Amanda Shires, and dealing with their 4-year-old daughter’s tantrum over not wanting to wash her hands again. Isbell was walking through his bathroom, the day’s petty frustrations spinning around his head, when he decided to rinse his mouth out. Isbell is a recovering alcoholic but hadn’t sworn off Listerine, despite its nearly 27 percent alcohol content. This time though, instead of swishing the mouthwash around and spitting it into the sink, he swallowed it like a shot of Jack Daniel’s.
