Richard Penniman; one of the first big show men in rock music. He was better know by his stage name of Little Richard.

Just read this about Little Richard. I was just playing one of his songs for my kids a few days ago.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

My father had all sorts of tapes of TV variety shows from the '60s (Ed Sullivan and the like), and that's probably where I first saw/heard Little Richard. Then he showed up on Full House when I was a kid and I thought he was the most famous rock star in the world.
