On the record: if I heard plenty of PJ songs sung by another band, I probably wouldn't like them as much because they wouldn't sound like PJ.
If you are referring to my post you missed my point. Since Pearl jam sang the song I know Mutt Lange didn't write it....in a vacuum if I heard the song by an unknown artist I would think I bet Mutt Lange produced that album. It has all his post 80's hallmarks.

When is that *not* the general consensus here?

Maybe, and I have to admit, I did laugh at the Shania Twain reference because I could see it. But we also said Shania Twain about Unemployable. And I guess no comparison to any other artist means a damn when it sounds good when PJ do it (imo).

I get what the chorus of LTRP is trying to do, with the uplifting abandon and shit, i don't think it does it well though sounds out of place to me. I think the rough edge from the crappy quality helps the verse sections quite a bit, thats gonna be gone on the album though.
We need to change the poll to a Meh Neh and Yeh option for each song, as per B. It'll be fucking huge but this threads already a mess so whatever.
I like getaway, i already didn't like LB and knew i wasn't going to like swallowed whole, LTRP is meh but i didnt have high hopes. So this hasn't really changed my expectation of the album. Its the other songs im waiting for.

And I agree with Jorge about the keys in that bridge, they're very nice.

-Getaway is really great.
-Drumming on the songs is great.
-The production, mixes, singing, everything, is great.
-Ranking these four: Getaway, Let The Records Play, Lightning Bolt, Swallowed Whole (distant fourth).

I dont think so...i think they are good for the most part, SW is my least fav...and these arent even considered the best songs on the album according to people who heard the whole thing..

LTRP sounds real bad to me....like horrible...love Unemployable though....I have a feeling the love for this one is gonna confuse me like the love for FoN.
