Must have been a strange time for the band 30 years ago at this time. I wonder about those months, the creation of the Ten songs before they met Ed.

I don't think you can point to PJ20/Reissues as the cause of their shitty decade. Remember, correlation does not equal causation.

Maybe they figured they should put some stuff out and make up the money they lost from being meh in the studio. The blah music might have been the cause of them looking back over the better decades.

their low album output the last 10 years can be traced to many factors

i think most of which roll up to ‘been there, done that’ and preferring to spend time doing other things

I've always wondered if not only being inducted in to the HOF, but actually sort of headlining that evening, kind of humbled them into thinking they needed to step it up. That ceremony was in 2017, and that does seem to be when they ditched the "Ole" type stuff and plotted a different course.
