Ed mentions they like how they like to write songs they can play live. He then proceeds to sing the bridge/outro of Lightning Bolt in a way that he will never be able to reproduce live.

I like these more on the first listen than I did most of Backspacer.

Not really, i think they'll grow on me too. If these are an indicator of the rest of the album..it'll be the best they've put out in a long while. Huge relief after Mind your Manners.

I think it's the same and I think it's great. He's obviously pushing himself vocally, but the vulnerability in it is charming to my ears.

Yeah. These songs won't get any worse even if they don't get better, imo.

Agreed, they def have more depth than most if not all of BS tho...
