whats that retracked version Joe? im not sure i would want Ole as an opener. And the call response ...we have that one on MYM, and its a superior song to me.

Maybe Ole could work on the second half?
I like the energy Getaway brings into MYM. I'd still want that to be track 2. So I was just thinking out loud about possible alternative album openers. Ole is a fucking great song. Not sure it would totally work but worth trying.
MYM could be a cool opener maybe. Im not against Getaway though. I like the ending. Its mostly the production that i dont like, but thats a problem i have with the whole album.

Yeah, i can see Ole working as an opener....the intro and the bass lines are tasty

I usually include Ole with BS/LB mixes, but it actually seems a lot looser than everything on those two albums.

So, thinking more about this... I think what I'd do --- and I have NOT actually listened to this yet, just thinking it out on paper first --- is something like this:

1. Pendulum
2. Mind Your Manners
3. My Father's Son
4. Sirens
5. Infallible
6. Ole
7. Sleeping By Myself
8. Let The Records Play
9. Yellow Moon
10. Future Days

Makes it shorter and takes off the three tracks that are the biggest stumbling blocks for me. It's re-tracked so much as it's just trimmed, I guess. But it's the kind of thing I'm thinking.

For me it could be;

1-Pendulum
2-MYM
3-My Fathers son
4-Sirens
5-Getaway
6-Sleeping By Myself
7-Ole
8-Lightning Bolt (no fade)
9-Yellow Moon

I clearly just wandered into an alternate universe... I could have sworn you guys were retracking Lightning Bolt and including Ole!

(incidentally, I really like Ole)

I don't like the speed in which "whatchugonnasay" is delivered, but I really like the chorus of "Olé" and there are plenty of interesting pushes and pauses and an off-kilter drum part and a fun solo... it's my second favourite PRAMG "could-be-spritzy-punker" after "Never Destination"

yeah, Olé does "fun" and "silly" about a million times better than "Supersonic" and I'd rather listen to it than "Big Wave"

For all my Lightning Bolt/Backspacer boosterism I've never liked Ole. I really don't like how Eddie sounds on it (it was my initial fear at the very start of SBWM but he goes in a different direction), and I really disliked the lyrics. But the solo is good and the outro is a blast

I like "Ole" more than every song on Lightning Bolt.
