It was the perfect shot of adrenaline needed after riot act, where Ed spent half the record sounding like he couldn’t be bothered to get out of bed.

Thank you

Just one of the all-time worse PJ takes I've ever read on this board. It's a simple riff; it's also powerful and fun and loose and rockin'
Too bad because I don't think it is powerful or fun or loose or rockin' and you must accept it as my subjective opinion

What?
I mean that the verse and the chorus are very similar to each other both melodically and harmonically and I think that is kind of boring. In fact I'd go as far as to say that you're always saying that there's something wrong and I have faced it a life wasted and I'm starting to believe it's your plan all along and I am never going back there again

I used to hate that song when Avocado was the most recent PJ album, and it's grown on me considerably in subsequent years, but still not my bag. Overall it's just one of those late-career PJ rockers that manages to sound both forced and limp to me. The bridge leading into the final chorus is cool though

I like Life Wasted a lot, didn't vote for it though. I never noticed how similar the verse & chorus were, but theplatypus is right.

I voted for "Last Exit," "Brain of J," and "Can't Keep"

I probably like "Fatal" more than "Can't Keep" but Trag is right that it's not a great opener

Slow your role their handsome. It's way too early to tell.

Also, Platy is right about Life Wasted and stip is, of course, wrong about Riot Act. That must count for something.

I voted:
Last Exit
Breakerfall
Who Ever Said

Go, Brain Of J., and others are worthy and totally acceptable. PJ is good at openers, generally.

Even if you think so, you don't have to vote like that. It's only the bottom six that leave this round. Can vote strategically to save a good song.

Breakerfall would be a cool song to get to the next round. It’s so great. I don’t expect it to win, but it’s a kick ass song and should get the next round.
