So far it's been a 3+ year itch, life-related. So I don't think it'll be a passing musical fad thing. I just really need to hear songs about lizards fucking at the moment. Will that itch last though? And how long?

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
Sorry to interrupt your leak fest... but I just noticed that someone on the Pit heard some news about the new single being played today at 3 pm eastern time on PJ Radio.
Anyone else hear this rumor?
EDIT: Damn, I'm always one step too slow. Not sure why I even try.

Doesnt the post at the pit say Thursday? As in next week? Unless its still Thursday somewhere.
Getaway into cold confession works quite well.
If I like any of the new tracks as much as I like CC ill be happy.
I've pretty much discarded swallowed whole as just not my thing.

sirens is one of the anchor tracks of the record. I feel like so far we've mostly heard the linking songs.

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
Hmmm...
Getaway is definitely catchy. Had me singing along and dancing around on the second listen. But it's definitely a soft song, and it's disappointing that MYM is the albums hardest moment. I love MYM even more now. The Arctic Monkeys comparison with Getaway was spot on. It's that style.
Lightning Bolt - Sounds better on here, but they killed the middle part "Always somethin" which was the part I loved live, they removed the guitar for some fucking piano! It's still nice, but ugh.
Let The Records play is fun and catchy too. VERY Black Key's style. I was expecting some little Little Richard type shit. I like it, but it also sounds a little thin.
Swallowed Whole - I really like some of the melodies. But it's a little cheesy, Ed sounds nasally and breathy. But I really love the melody when he sings "Songs inside the wind"
Eghhh I don't mean to sound negative. I like all the songs, and I like the melodies but I think what I'm hearing is some of the same production from Backspacer. Everything sounds a little neutered and clean. That was my biggest fear. I can't wait to hear Infallible, Pendulum, Yellow Moon and MFS as they will probably save this album for me, but please dear god, I hope they go with another producer next time. WTF is Brendan doing.
