Oddly enough, I haven't listened to this album in weeks. I've just been too distracted with other stuff. But I am so confident in it that I know it's going to sound stellar when I go back to it. With LB, BS and S/T it was almost the opposite. I listened to those almost every day but looking back on it, I think I was just trying to convince myself they were special.

Gonna spin the vinyl for the first time tonight. Have been listening to Qobuz download previously. Always exciting to see what differences are there.

Mike wrote:Kurt is right about QE and Life Wasted, though.
What's interesting is that, without knowing the conversation that preceded it, Kurt seems to have arbitrarily selected "Life Wasted" as a basis for a comparison, as if that would be the natural song that one would immediately think to compare "Quick Escape" to, and then singled out one of "Life Wasted"'s least formidable qualities.

If it only has formidable qualities than its least formidable quality is still formidable!

Gave this a listen yesterday, first time in a while.

I legitimately enjoyed Dance of the Clairvoyants, Alright, Never Destination and Retrograde.

I'd say I like those songs as much as any others from the "modern" Pearl Jam era.

Pretty ho hum on the rest.

It's hard for me to grok Pearl Jam fans used to what we've been given in the past 15 years calling Who Ever Said and Quick Escape ho hum, but you do you. I'm glad you found 4 you dig.

I do enjoy Who Ever Said, if not quite as much as those four above, but I still find nothing at all to like about Quick Escape.

This album is falling faster than any before it. Today I listen to Riot Act and S/T and those are two of my bottom 3 and I think I like both better than Gigaton.

Quick Escape is not good. It would be the 3rd worst song on Lighting Bolt. I liked it at first but I see no reason Pearl Jam should sound like Bush

The heavy bass groove? Ed's vocals? The drums? Guitar solos? Nothing? Just listened to it again, fuck this song is great.

. bass groove cool. Guitars wankery at its worst. Matt did the best he could. Ed lyrics and vocals are bad over produced.
