Re: The Running Thread
I just did a "Virtual" Half Marathon. Runs like that SUCK without other people. There's no "game day" rush and no people to pass.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

All my runs have been pretty short though. I just happened to go 6 times this week. I'm still on Strava with my run uploads.

Saucony Endorphin Pro is available for pre order. Looks sick. But I'm not spending $200 on a shoe. Also, are carbon plate shoes cheating?

Re: The Running Thread
Good job, lenny! I'm glad you're doing it!
I'm gonna start again real soon. Weird pains like in my right thigh and left shoulder are feeling better and I'm feeling healthy. Been stretching and doing 100 pushups and some leg lifts daily. I'm sure the dog will appreciate it too.
I've missed running so much. The feeling of pushing the body through the physical challenge and the mind through the mental challenge is so rewarding. Can't wait to start again.

Awesome!!! 3 miles is the magic number for me. Once I get past that, 4, 5, 6 aren't far behind.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:did 3 miles, but 9 seconds per mile off my pace from friday...thought i ran a little more overall but i guess i didn’t...i could have gone harder though no doubt

Re: The Running Thread
I think focusing on pace and time and the amount of breaks you take is probably a bad thing. you want to get in a trance as much as possible. of course you gotta push but fussing about seconds only creates unnecessary stress. long distance runners tend to be slower in general. like the dudes that put up the most kms each week are not the fastest dudes out there.

i don’t disagree, but i can do so little at a time that I’m just curious how I’m progressing...once i get to where i can do a decent amount at one time i doubt I’ll monitor that very closely

Re: The Running Thread
That's great! My wife's philosophy (she has run Boston 3 times) is focusing on time out on the road/trail. When she is building up to get back into running shape, she goes for time as a goal, not distance.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:well it still was a lot of walking, but...it’s way better than i could do two months agoHatfield wrote:Awesome!!! 3 miles is the magic number for me. Re: The Running Thread
that makes sense...for better or worse i have an innate sense of time so i'm kinda geared toward thinking in those termsHatfield wrote:That's great!
