It's the kind of movie where the less you know about it, the better the experience will be. I watched it based on a friend's recommendation and had no idea what it was about. It's a slow-burn, suspense/thriller about a dinner party.

I've seen it. I didn't really care for it. But I know we tend to have similar tastes. What about it connected for you?

I don't know, I just thought it was really well done. I love unsettling movies like this. The mounting paranoia mixed with awkward social dynamics. The atmosphere. The costumes! The pageantry!

Right on. I wanted to like it more. I'd heard such great things. But it ultimately fell flat for me. Glad it worked for you. That's awesome.

I’ve never seen you as a Ben Affleck. Casey, maybe, without the sexual harassment tendencies.

A Serious Man.

Lot to like but probably my least favorite Coen film yet.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

To be fair I've mostly avoided the consensus lower-tier ones. Never seen Ladykillers, Man Who Wasn't There, etc.
