Re: List Your Top 10 Favorite Horror Movies
I remember the movie scaring the living shit out of me for years as a child.
I just finished Hereditary. Definitely a scary movie and up there with recent horror flicks. Toni Collete is so fucking awesome. I love almost everything she's in. Ultimately, the ending was unsatisfying which got me to thinking about which scary movies actually deliver all the way through the end. I think its few and far between.
My mind immediately went to Blair Witch Project. That ending fucking delivers and its a perfect top off to a truly terrifying experience.

I assume this is the catch-all horror film thread of RM...
I watched Insidious: Chapter 2 the other night, Wan is a very conflicted filmmaker.

Still going to use this as the catch-all horror thread of RM...
Anne Rice’s ‘Vampire Chronicles,’ ‘Lives of the Mayfair Witches’ Rights Land at AMC
AMC now holds the comprehensive rights for the much sought-after intellectual property and will develop film and television projects for its own television networks and streaming services under the AMC Studios umbrella as well as external partner licensing. Anne Rice and her son Christopher Rice will serve as executive producers on all series and films developed under the deal.
AMC is the parent company of Shudder so I'm pretty happy about this.

Re: List Your Top 10 Favorite Horror Movies
I don't watch horror films because they scare me.
But of those I tormented myself through, they rank
1) Event Horizon
2) Evil Dead
3) Sixth Sense
4) Blair Witch Project
They're the only ones I ever watched. I mean besides like Halloween or the Fly or whatever, if that

I only saw Evil Dead in a theatre. It says it came out in 1981 but I saw it a few years after that, I was only 14 or 15 and I snuck off to see it with my boyfriend. I think my eyes were covered for most of it but I definitely remember a pencil being stabbed into an ankle and then the ankle crackling up the leg.
I'll admit, I only saw part of Event Horizon because I had to leave the room, but it was just as scary just HEARING it from the other room.
They told me Sixth Sense wasn't scary. For months after watching it, I couldn't go into some parts of my home if I was the only one home.
I'm bad with horror films

Re: List Your Top 10 Favorite Horror Movies
Event Horizon is more fucked up that scary i guess....i totally see Evil Dead and Sixth Sense being super scary. I still remember the packed silent theatre with Sixth Sense.
I recently had the same experience with Hereditary, super packed and silent and tense.

Not one of my top 10, but The Pact was a pretty good recent one that seems to get no attention at all
