Re: The Running Thread
Do leg lifts. I do lots of leg lifts and have very strong abs beneath all the flabby lard.

fair enough. guess I am projecting. I spend a lot of time staring at my watch while I am running and trying to break records and other bullshit.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:oh I’m not fussing...just observingDev wrote:I think focusing on pace and time and the amount of breaks you take is probably a bad thing. you want to get in a trance as much as possible. of course you gotta push but fussing about seconds only creates unnecessary stress. long distance runners tend to be slower in general. like the dudes that put up the most kms each week are not the fastest dudes out there.
i don’t disagree, but i can do so little at a time that I’m just curious how I’m progressing...once i get to where i can do a decent amount at one time i doubt I’ll monitor that very closely

Re: The Running Thread
I want to get into running again so bad but it's hard to get started. I can't get over the mentality that it's overall bad for my body with all the wear and tear. I figure it must be better to just take up the stationary bike again.

Re: The Running Thread
saying getting exercise is bad for the body is one of the stupidest lies that loser people tell themselves so they don't have to do anything. if you rehab properly you will only make gains!

Re: The Running Thread
I dunno man... my knee pops when I walk and the doctor said it's from wear and tear and to take it easy with the running. I don't know how you stretch around that. People have told me it may be better to do low impact exercises as opposed to pounding your legs on the ground. What can be the harm with intense stationary bike workouts?Dev wrote:saying getting exercise is bad for the body is one of the stupidest lies that loser people tell themselves so they don't have to do anything. if you rehab properly you will only make gains!

Re: The Running Thread
no harm. low impact is great. but I would bet money on the fact that your knees are hurting because a ton of muscles and ligaments throughout your entire legs are seized and if you started adressing those issues your knees would open up. get a ribbed foam roller and become obsessed with stretching is my rec.tree_ wrote:I dunno man... my knee pops when I walk and the doctor said it's from wear and tear and to take it easy with the running. Re: The Running Thread
maybe a month ago my Achilles in my right ankle was so fucked I literally barely was able to walk home one night. it was horrible. but I rehabbed the living fuck out of it and was probably back trying running within a few days. it wasn't great but I continued to work on it and now I am running great for the time being. stretching is an endless art. I have no scratched the surface and I think i am quite intuitive about it.

Re: The Running Thread
if I could just figure out how to fix my hips now I would be perfect.
until the next thing breaks down that is.
I probably just need to do squats.
but even i am lazy and human sometimes.
meh.
