Star Wars: The Original Trilogy

Post by Anders »

The original trilogy are finally out in 4k. (No, it’s not the original cinema versions, but the special editions/director’s cut). Thinking about getting these.

Fantastic movies.

Not surprising. These are small independent movies. You may have heard of the director. He’s a California native, that had modest success with the movie American Graffiti.

I should get into my chronological ride. Thing is ; I left it with Rogue One so I have that one next.

But it’s been a while since I watched these three

Always a pleasure watching these. I guess you could start it with Rogue One, or even Andor s1 and s2, into Rogue One.

After Andor Season 2 comes out I'll watch that, Rogue One and the OT Despecialized editions. Rebellion Era for the win.

I really wish I were savvy enough to figure how to get the fan 4K restorations. I recently watched the official Disney 4K transfer of A New Hope and hated it so much I abandoned plans to watch the next two afterward.

I have the decade old 720p ones. I think it might be time to try and track down the 4K's.

If you're able to track down those sweet non-DNR project 4K77, 4K80, and 4K83 versions, please let me know how you did so...

I have that special edition dvd set. The one that came with the films all done up and the original cuts all grainy and cool. You can get them online for not much.
Happy to send them to you if you can’t find them.

These are pretty easy to find, but you’ve got to use methods some would consider…unnatural.

Do you do any torrenting?

These look…beefy.

I don't. I'm totally illiterate when it comes to getting movies through...uh, means of this sort.

Kind of you to offer but it's specifically the non-DNR project 4K versions I'm looking for

I honestly think a HD&P would be easier than getting into torrents at this stage.
