There are gonna be a lot more red team supporters of Public Healthcare in about 3-4 weeks.

Well they awarded a billion dollar contract to Fisher Sand and Gravel, a company out of North Dakota that’s mostly famous in the Midwest for paying huge fines over dangerous workplace conditions and for its owner getting arrested for fraud, two days ago.

An old high school classmate posted a picture on facebook of him and a friend getting ready to go on a run. They were smashed together for a selfie without a mask. Whatever. I posted "too close, no mast," basically just for fun.

He responds with "you're entitled to your own opinions, but we won't live in fear."

Own opinions? 95,000 dead Americans, and you can't even be moved to pretend you give a fuck about other people?

My fucking diabetic, 70 year old mother walks on the same path they're running on. If my dad sees him, and he doesn't give them 6 feet, I'm driving up there, staking out that trail, and shoving him into the canal.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Your friend took it as social shaming, aka bullying. You knew you were joking but it was not apparent by what you wrote.
Maybe you should invest in some N95 or higher grade masks for your parents so you can feel you’re doing something to protect your parents and lose some of the rage you’re experiencing.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Given his response. I'm OK with him feeling socially shamed. If he took it that way, he must be feeling a bit pressured. Good. People should feel pressured to do the absolute minimum.

I'm not really plotting a cross-state attack. My dad can and has told people to move out of his and mom's 6 foot bubble.

I don't really see the point of wearing a mask outside during exercise if I can keep my distance from people.

I don't wear one while running, but they were mashed in for a selfie.

If it was a group of a hundred people all spitting in each other’s mouths, that’s one thing, but this doesn’t even register on my outrage meter.

I wasn't outraged by the picture. Just the dickish response.

Probably should depend on where you're running. We live in a high-density area of Philly, so if a runner is going down the sidewalk (which they shouldn't be, but whatever!) they're bound to pass right by a number of pedestrians, any of whom could be high risk--so the point of the mask would be to protect those people from any unanticipated cough/sneeze/etc. But if you're running in the park (which is literally five blocks away) a mask seems pretty unnecessary.

Yeah I run in places I can move to the other side of a road if there are walkers. If I had to wear a mask while running I just wouldn't run or would use my treadmill. Fuck that shit.
