The huge caveat is that I have a certain bar that I've set for new PJ, and it's not as high as Riot Act and before. But within that limit, this is surprisingly strong material for late PJ. It makes me feel as if I'll enjoy this album far more than the last two, and that's all I wanted.

It takes a special kind of moron to hate "Cropduster".

Which is great. You and I would love another binaural but if there's a few songs which make us happy then good :)

I've accepted that they feel it important to be poppy and to draw a wide crowd, and within those limits, I've adjusted my expectations. I always said that my issues with Backspacer weren't that they were trying 'pop music'. My issue was just that they weren't doing it very well. These are much better and seem to have more intention to them.

BoB was right about one thing: Ed is singing the hell out of this album.

How can anybody "absolutely HATE" a piece of art? It might not be your favourite song, but man...
This doesn't even make any sense. Do you think 'art' by its very nature can't inspire hate?

I think Cropduster is a load of old bollocks. Hate? I despise the fuckin' thing!

I guess my point is that I don't have the time or the energy for hate. This band's got, what, 150 songs in their catalogue? I don't love them all, but I really like the band. I definitely don't have time for hate.

Anyway, what I really love is my 3-year-old, so I'm going to go make supper for him.

Enjoy the tunes...or not.

This.

Plus, I may getting a little bump, because I am exposing my 2 year old son to to PJ for the first time hear. I just can't stop playing these and jumping up and down with him. He's saying "Jam" over and over again....

And yes, I am a few beers in.

Pop isn't their thing. Never has been. I had enough pop with Backspacer. that and the length of the songs just didn't leave a good taste. it was acquired I guess. Backspacer was like a dish that looks good but you can never get the foul taste out of your mouth after trying it. No Code through Riot Act, that's rock. that's We make music for ourselves and if you like it good if not :finger: I am hoping this is more along those lines and less pop.. by the way seeing Ed with one direction made me want to cry, drink a whole lot, puke and drown in my own vomit. But he is a dad and would do anything for his kids, I think Im starting to understand that more sense recently becoming a dad myself.

Which is great. You and I would love another binaural but if there's a few songs which make us happy then good :)

The best thing I could have ever done was listen only twice this morning, and then walk away. I wasn't very excited. Now I came back for 2 more listens, and it's like a hammer hit me over the head, cause I can't believe this is what I listened to earlier. These songs are good, possibly very good.

This SWALLOWED HOLE is doing something to me......that I definately didn't anticipate. All 4 are good. Could FUTURE DAYS end up being listenable????!!?

While I am thoroughly impressed by the stip review on the front page, I still must offer mine while I am sitting down. It is not quite as good, granted...

This group of songs is the logical extension of Backspacer. But.... this is also the logical IMPROVEMENT of Backspacer. Key difference. And we haven't even heard the most promising songs based on the listening party descriptions.

Swallowed Whole is the tops right now for me.
Getaway jams
Lightning Bolt delivers, but is a pretty straightforward kind of tune. But they do it right

These three top anything since Binaural in my opinion. I may edit that later, some of S/T compares, but I think these songs will grow more likely than fade on me.

LTRP, MYM are nice tunes, better than almost all of Backspacer, but a cut below the top 3, imo.

Can't wait for Infallible, Yellow Moon, Sirens, My Fathers Son, Pendulum. These will add the depth that has been absent since Riot Act, i'm hoping
