Pretty much the whole Band of Gypsys album. I actually prefer Noels tone, but Billy just plays such a great groove. By far the best version of Hear My Train A Comin' is on those Fillmore shows.tragabigzanda wrote:Machine Gun tooMadTIGERmaN wrote:also,

Re: All-Time Best Basslines
There’s no comparing Billy Cox to Noel Redding on any level IMO. Noel was purely functional as a bassist. Billy should have been there with Jimi the whole time, just didn’t work out that way. The Cry of Love band with Mitch and Jimi is my favorite Hendrix era. Not as many iconic songs as the Experience but you could hear how comfortable everyone in the band was and I’m sure they were just getting started when Jimi died.
I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd.

It's cool though there's room for both threads

I’ve always been partial to “Power of Soul” myself. There are so many turnarounds it’s insane.

Which is, in actuality, the bassline from "Good Times" by Chic. Tasty bassline all the same...Ms Harmless wrote:The Sugar Hill Gang, "Rapper's Delight"
