There’s no comparing Billy Cox to Noel Redding on any level IMO. Noel was purely functional as a bassist. Billy should have been there with Jimi the whole time, just didn’t work out that way. The Cry of Love band with Mitch and Jimi is my favorite Hendrix era. Not as many iconic songs as the Experience but you could hear how comfortable everyone in the band was and I’m sure they were just getting started when Jimi died.

Im a sucker for the heavier / fuzzy tones.
