This will literally stop no one, here or in the real world, but I truly wish it could be a personal gut check if someone was just able to realize that their adherence to their ideological tribe is making it feel that it's incumbent on them to spin the thousands of people who've died of a disease.

But like I said, that's not going to happen.

The worst part of it is that CNN/Washington State has convinced all these other countries that they’ve lost people too I guess

That they don't is a phenomenon, isn't it?

Guys, let's just shelter a little while longer. I bet the virus will go away soon if we do.

The trend lines are improving. We should absolutely still be following the lock-down and this past weekend will undoubtedly go down as some of the dumbest shit in modern American history, but things are getting better.

It's not incorrect, but why he chose the day that we crossed 100,000 deaths as a day to brag about that (and express NO sympathy for those families) boggles the mind.

A President with a brain might have said something like, "Our sympathy for the 100,000 families of those lost knows no bounds, and though the suffering is not over, we are starting to see a turn in the number of new cases that encourages us to keep up the good work of increasing testing, wearing a mask whenever we can, and staying home as much as possible so that those numbers continue to decline."
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

It's tragic that this precedent was set. Thanks Obama.

Me too. Our cases in the county went from 0 active cases at the end of our Stay at Home order to 25 in the last week alone (2 weeks after opening things back up).

It's almost as if opening back up will inevitably lead to new cases no matter when you decide to do it.

That reality doesn't mean all approaches to opening are equal, and it won't make the costs across approaches identical.
