Have any SCOTUS appointees been questioned about Qualified Immunity*? This isn't the only problem about Cops doing whatever they want, but it is a big one.

An additional issue is public sector unions, which contribute to Cops doing whatever with no consequence.

QI gets them off of whatever civil/(criminal?) liability they should be held liable for, and the unions get them their job back, with back pay.

There are numerous other issues about how cops can justify investigating/ detaining people, but I am somewhat less concerned about that after more recent experiences.

*Maybe Green Habit can comment, but I am not optimistic that forcibly closing the windpipe of a suspect with an officer's knee has been well established in caselaw as violating their Civil Rights.

9 minutes is how long they knelt on his neck. I assumed that's why Now This made their video 9 minutes.

It's strange to watch that look in the killer cop's eyes as he leans in and rolls his knee around on George's neck, all the while his victim is losing consciousness. I’m fucking depressed. I have half a mind to drive down to Minneapolis this week (I’m in the state but up north ) and do SOMETHING.

I can’t believe he’s sitting at his home right now not in jail. Apparently there are a ton of protesters outside is home right now (rightfully so) and he’s attempted to have food delivered but most of them have turned right around and refused service. I hope the protests stay angry yet non violent. But holy shit this country is seriously fucked.

Decent or not, I do not care about the safety of individuals who engage in riot-driven violence against the police. Out of control opportunists who use activism as a excuse for violence... fuck 'em. They diminish the work of peaceful protestors and the cause of racial justice as a whole.
