I still wish Let The Records Play was sung entirely like Throw Your Hatred Down, music included. That was the first thing I thought when I saw the title and its stuck in my damn head.

5 studio tracks plus 2 tracks in live or Uke form. Quite underwhelmed to be honest.

Getaway is a good opener and is growing on me. This will be good live. It's still the worst opener out of the ten. The Hey Hey before the last chorus pisses me off.

LB. No improvement on the live version. This song needs some space to it, too much Ed. Sounds forced and doesn't feel organic. Let the builds come naturally and not force them.

LTRP. This sounds like it's from a kids movie soundtrack and even then it wouldn't be particularly well received. Why oh why was this released. If I want to listen to this style I certainly wouldn't be playing the Pearl Jams.

SW. Is growing on me. A few of you mention REM. Maybe that's why I don't really feel it. There's a nice break at 2:06. This could have been a nice instrumental break for 15-20secs before Ed shites all over it before the solo. Ed actually pisses me off across these tracks.

MYM is standing out as the better of the pack and I don't really care for it. The opening of Getaway into MYM will work well (even if it's a poor cousin of GSMF>GS). FD and SBM don't hold much hope for me so after 7 tracks I have 2x3* (Getaway and SW), a possible 2* in album context (MYM), and 2-4x1stars (LTRP, LB, FD and SBM).

And after 4 yrs to be served LTRP and a rehashed SBM is a bit rich.

I love fantasy football more than Pearl Jam. True Story. Although depending on where you live, I might have to say fantasy 'soccer'. Vomit. Those new songs though... (On topic claw back win)

Welcome to the board. :) By the way, open requests for stolen or commercially available material is cause for banning.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Can't help how you feel I guess. So 10 albums in, what are/were your expectations?

So I'm making a playlist that includes these LB songs with some of the recent albums to get a feel for where they stand in the grand scheme of things. So far I've got them paired with RA, S/T, and BS. My question for the board is, should I include Binaural as well in this "era" of PJ, or do you see Binaural as being in the No Code-Yield era? [I'm leaning towards the latter.]

I wouldn't even include Riot Act.

Oh man not again. I would like to have 4-5 really good/great tracks that make me want to play them for someone else. And it would be nice if I could listen to the whole album without the need to skip or rage up. That won't happen as I'm already skipping 2 tracks and that's after 5 listens.

I would do this
Ten/VS
Vitology/No Code/ Yeild
Binaural/Riot Act/ ST
BS/LB

The only problem I have with Ed is the strange production of his vocals on LB compared to the other 4 tracks. I think he is a highlight thus far. I wish these were better quality.

There's more than one of us who haven't heard these yet...Hopefully some kind/brave soul makes em a little easier to find for those of us in the dark.

I would put ST on it's own. It doesn't really fit with Riot Act/Binaural or Backspacer/Lightning Bolt.

In the era of digital music, playlists are king. The only problem is, is (Bob Dylan 1975) that the current releases are of such poor quality that even if the songs are infinitely better than those that proceeded them (which I think they are), that when they follow a proper album track, the drop in quality will affect how you interpret the song (as shallow as that sounds). Wait until the album drops (I'm trying to sound cool, I meant when it comes out in the shops, like Tesco) then start compiling a playlist. This is also the reason I don't include anything from Siamese Dream, The Queen is Dead or any Stone Roses tracks on playlists, because the production on these albums is so shit, and the volume so low (even with volume levelling) that when played in a playlist context they stand out and detract from the brilliance of the songs when played as a whole. It's like trying to talk to your girlfriend after cumming in her mouth, she might be quoting Benjamin Franklin but its going to sound like garbled shit until she spits.

From what I'm hearing, my pairing would look like Ten/Vs., Vitalogy/Merkinball/No Code, Yield, Binaural/Riot Act, Avocado/Backspacer/Lightning Bolt

Agreed, they sound as though they were made by different bands.
