Merely ok. With all this talent involved and we get this?
We watched this last night too. It wasn't a bad time but it was underwhelming. Definitely should have been funnier with that cast.
Yes
Feel like you and I are back in sync now after a few misses.
Wait, this earlier post?
Yep.

Rachel Getting Married.

Probably my favorite movie from Demme. Anne Hathaway is sooo good here.

Its wonderful. I just adore Demme´s camera work, montage, everything really. And the cast is amazing, Rosemarie DeWitt and Anne have never been better.

Absolutely nothing--she's a star in a star-filled series which is top-to-bottom great.

She had us watching way more seasons of Masters of Sex than were warranted by the actual content of the show.

I've still never seen that show. Mostly because I've heard it's not that great and I know I'd be like you and keep watching anyway just for Lizzy.

Did you watch Castle Rock? Her turn as Annie Wilkes was BRILLIANT.

I have not. MoS had an okay first season and an actually quite good second season, though it never really gets beyond being a Mad Men pastiche. But it's rapidly downhill from there. On the plus side Caplan is frequently naked.

This was really good, though I definitely hear the critique of it being a little too long. Ending was phenomenal. Sandler should have gotten a best actor nod for this.

From tree_:
Recently watched Social Network for the 'nth time after a long while and it holds up very well. I watched it this time as if it were a horror movie and it works. It's so scary on many different levels.
7.56/10 sprites.

Recently watched Shazam! for the first time. Touched me on 3 different levels and I cried, very entertaining and surprising. Reminded me of 80's kids movies with a modern flair. 7.36/10 siblings.

I should give Social Network another watch; I have not seen it since it came out. I do remember it being the one film of Armie Hammer's that he actually impressed me as an actor.
I'm glad you bring up Shazam!. It's been on my list for a while and I will finally check it out in the coming days. It appeals to me in the same way that you mention.

Thanks for the help, Biff, and good morning. Yeah, the big outlier complaint I should say I have with Shazam! is the main kid actor. He just seems to lack the shiny charisma needed for the role.

Mannn watched about half of Uncut Gems last night. Whew. Pheeewwww. It's a lot. Kinda hard to watch, too. Intense. The guy reminds me of my dad in all the worst ways. He reminded Raz of some bad people too. Gonna take a while to really get through and digest this one. I can see the genius of the movie, though. Super well made.
