Not that awkward...Dissident, Go, and Leash at the very least feel like they could have been on Ten. There feels like a natural evolution between those albums. Vitalogy also seemed like a big break to me. No Code seems like the flipside of Vitalogy but somehow the natural progression from Vitalogy, especially when you contemplate the sounds they were making with Neil Young on Mirrorball. Yield to me is a rock outlier that has more in common with the clarity in sound and message as the more recent albums, while Binaural and Riot Act are dark, murky albums.

Ten
VS-ST
Vitalogy-No Code
Yield- Riot Act
Binaural-Backspacer
LB

This is how I pair them.

I have always grouped them as such:

Ten/Vs/Vitalogy
No Code/Yield
Binaural/Riot Act
ST/Backspacer - I believe I would add LB to this, not start a new group

Kinda follows the drummers, I guess

I've been listening to the "middle records" a lot lately. It's clear to me this band was at it's most interesting and creative from Vitalogy to Binaural. For years I would probably throw Vs. in the mix too as it's always been my sentimental fav but I honestly don't feel it's stood the test of time like the 94-2000 records have. To be clear I have never not liked a PJ album (which looks about to change) but nothing seemed forced on those middle albums. They were experimenting but keeping everything in a hard rock/garage rock vein. They also weren't repeating themselves album to album. So far LB seems like Backspacer 2: The Revenge to me.

Alright, new game. This band has been around for 23 fucking years . Let's name other bands who have been around this long who still or who did make relevant music like this. I am saying bands, not solo artist. Sure there have been bands around for this extent of time, but their music seemed to die a little with age. I know I am biased towards PJ , but this seems fresh to me and yeah maybe a little watered down from the early days, but they still seem to make you think and feel something from these songs. I don't know I think I'm wasted right now but I love it. I just want to hear Pendulum and Infallible so. Yeah it's gravy

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Rush?
He said "relevant music". Rush was never relevant.

1976-1981 (at the least) would disagree.

Hunger Strike-Ten-Singles Soundtrack (early fury)
Crazy Mary-Vs (getting to grips with space in songwriting and recording)
Vitalogy-Merkinball-No Code (what a band can do)
Yield (what a band can/should do)
Binaural-Riot Act (reeeeaaalll possibilitieeeeees)
Pearl Jam (a band, an era, lost in it)
Into the Wild-Backspacer (getting to grips with buttons, easily pushed)
LB (???????-PROFIT????)

1) If these new signups keep joining just to ask for a PM, despite blatantly fucking clear rules stating not to, I recommend that the board powers lock new signups until Things settle down.

2) Further requests for PMs will in fact receive a PM from me. But unless you actually want to see a picture of my junk, I would re-he-he-heally recommend that this ceases.

I can't blame people for not posting to a forum every day but still wanting good music from a great band.

I'm actually quite curious to know what the reaction of these are compared to say when we first started listening to Backspacer - Stip?
