If we can't train police to judge the threat (or lack thereof) that they are currently facing and act accordingly, then all we're doing is sending murders out into vulnerable communities.

Why are you guys so desperate to excuse such horrific behavior. Cities are burning to the ground. Civilians are losing their businesses and houses. This isn’t protesting, its mayhem. It’s incredibly dangerous for everyone that lives in these areas, which are primarily minority neighborhoods and businesses. The lengths you will go to defend horrific, criminal behavior, proves how morally bankrupt you are. You actually have zero care or love in your hearts for humanity, no matter the race. You are mentally inept and wicked in the heart and mind. Destruction, terrorism, and potentially lethal violence in the streets benefits no one, certainty not George Floyd. Now people who had difficult situations already will have extraordinarily difficult circumstances for the coming months, if not longer.

I fundamentally disagree with your basic premise. And factually speaking, I have no delusions that Trump is a great guy, or eloquent, or anything of the kind. He is far too blunt and rude for my personal taste far too often. But I have also seen great progress made in many areas that are important to me, and the people I know. His financial policies have greatly benefited the vast majority of people. Before Covid, the economy was better than it had ever been and people of EVERY race were benefiting. I generally agree with his foreign policy. He’s a strong supporter of Israel and American allies. I love that he has zero problem cutting ties with worthless organizations that suck millions and millions of American taxpayers dollars out of our country. He’s strongly pro-life. He’s pro religious freedom. He’s pro second amendment. He has appointed judges that I have some level of faith in. I condemn all racism. I am also not naive enough to believe only white people are racists. I see incredible harm happening from groups like Antifa, as well as white supremacists. Both groups are despicable, hateful, and racist. I oppose a welfare state. Etc., etc., etc. Basically, he isn’t a leftist in any way, and neither am I.

I have no hate in my heart for anyone based on race. I think white liberals are some of the most destructive people on the planet. I see a great majority of liberal cities and states crumbling under horrific policy and incompetence. This isn’t a race issue, it’s an ideological issue. White liberals are some of the least compassionate and most racist people in society. They label any black person that isn’t a democrat an “Uncle Tom”. They label everyone that doesn’t agree with them as racists, yet they are the ones that believe all blacks think alike and must fall into the categories they demand or they are somehow not really black. They push for and pass social policy that has effectively killed the black family unit. They minimize the importance of fathers and mock the traditional family. They cater to special interest groups and teach a victim mentality. They discourage free thought. They want to silence dissent and censor free speech.

The list of grievances I have with the left is extensive. Trump is very flawed, no doubt. But the left is hell bent on the destruction of constitutional rights that I would defend to the death, and so will he. And I appreciate that.

The left just hates him no matter what. And people like you, that genuinely liked me before you knew my politics, can’t handle the fact that people like me don’t buy into their Trump Derangement Syndrome. Btw, as a point of reference, I went to high school in the neighborhood that has been destroyed by these riots. I spent time at some of these businesses. I literally have dozens of friends in the immediate area. My connection to this area dates back to my grandparents. They went to the same high school. My parents met as 10th graders in the same school. I’ve spent literally YEARS of my life in these very locations. My personal connection to this situation is significant. And I have a far greater understanding of these neighborhoods and the demographics than all of you combined. I know you will continue to dismiss my insights and personal knowledge because you hate Trump. Whatever. This is personal to me. There are friends and extended family that I currently have living amongst this chaos, and I trust their firsthand insight and experiences.

I agree that George Floyd was murdered. I think all four cops involved should be sentenced to the longest possible period in prison. I question the validity of the “official” autopsy results, and no person sitting on their porch should ever be assaulted by police, and I have not ever said differently.

I don’t and have never blamed Trump for that cop killing him. What I DO blame Trump for is inciting more violence and his using his blatant racism to do so. I blame him for giving white people the ok to call the cops on black people that are just out bit watching. I blame him for making it ok for two people to hunt down a black man that’s out jogging and kill him. He has made being a racist acceptable. He’s the leader of the free world and he has taken us back 60 years in regards to race relations. What’s happening now is terrible and I don’t condone the violence associated with the protesters, but I certainly understand it. After that, the conversation around him continues to be about his RESPONSE TO this moment....the lack of leadership, the fetishist war tweets about “the front lines” at the White House. The press conference with nothing to say about it and NO QUESTIONS TAKEN. There is no national event, especially one this traumatic, where the president’s leadership response is irrelevant or above evaluation.

But you can stop arguing that Trump isn’t responsible for this man’s death, because you’re arguing against no one. No one thinks Donald Trump caused the man to die. Everyone is too busy wondering when he’s going to stop responding by stoking the fires of violence and emphasizing the political divide.

No matter what you think of the protesters, I don’t understand how you can look at this and not see the indiscriminate and purposefully escalating reaction by a militarized police force as THE THING right now. They’re shooting at people standing on their porches. They’re macing children. They’re driving cars into crowds, running calm, quiet people over on horseback, targeting journalists, and assaulting nurse’s tents.

Nothing any crowd does justifies armed police escalating nonviolent situations or inflicting willful and indiscriminate harm on people they were sworn to protect, period. The power divide between citizens and cops is too extreme to pretend otherwise.

What’s interesting about that terrorist thing is, the antifa debate came out of the “out of state rioters” claim, which continues to be completely unsubstantiated. Yet the Attorney General and the president want to designate antifa a terrorist organization because of this weekend’s events.
