Chauvin was arrested and charged Friday, and Minneapolis still burned that night. More charges are likely coming. Justice is a process and it takes time. Had the four officers been bound and released to the mob to be beaten, tortured, and killed, I’m not convinced that would have satisfied them.
This is what a few hundred years of systemic racism gets us. Poor us, so victimized by riots.

Since the consistent approach seems to be overreaction, might it be that the police feel emboldened to respond forcibly since the President has repeatedly been saying do whatever you want I support you?

To his crowds when punching other attendees
At the border when imprisoning asylum seekers
To our enemy's dead bodies on actual battlefields
To the young secret service agents "on the front lines"

The message has been pretty consistent.

Note to self: Don’t bring a bow and arrow to a peaceful protest.

Chauvin was arrested and charged Friday, and Minneapolis still burned that night. More charges are likely coming. Justice is a process and it takes time. Had the four officers been bound and released to the mob to be beaten, tortured, and killed, I’m not convinced that would have satisfied them.

I don’t believe burning down people’s businesses is going to fix a broken system or make people more symapathetic to the plight of the helpless and oppressed, but ok.

I’ve been becoming more and more sympathetic since 1992 after the riots in LA.

I didn’t claim to have the answer, but I’m pretty sure it’s not total anarchy and burning down cities. I’ve seen multiple people, especially women, with ABOLISH THE POLICE signs. I don’t think they’ve given much thought to what that would look like.

How do you think we solve this?

Why do cops have military grade super hero cosplay gear and nurses have to wear garbage bags and reuse masks during pandemic?

Let's start with demilitarization of law enforcement.

Heartwarming! Can’t help but notice he still had his gun, though, just waiting for an opportunity to violate someone’s rights.

It’s easy to join a peaceful rally while there’s still daylight, but an angry mob bent on destruction and chaos is another story. Maybe the Minneapolis police chief and mayor could have gone out and broken some store windows and set some fires to show how cool they are.
