terra form!
So we can modify the atmosphere of Mars, fly there, and live?

Why don't we just fix our own atmosphere if it's that simple?
There are thoughts that the Earth’s atmosphere extends out about as far as the moon.

So we can fix Mars but not earth?

I'm not saying it makes this anymore reasonable or worthwhile an endeavor, I just wanted to reply to your doubts about living there.

It would be nice to have the option to move to Mars or elsewhere in the event of a looming threat to Earth. We should be doing everything we can to make any other planet habitable. Build a dome or something. Then, from there, we can observe/reach even further into oblivion, and so on. This should be the ultimate goal. That you don't see that and that it isn't obvious to everyone is depressing. It's depressing to imagine humans never leaving Earth.

I see it. I get it.

I just hate the elysium parrellels that would likely exist.

We’re constantly tracking asteroids. Even if we “fixed” it - the chances the Earth is destroyed anyway are pretty good.

A volcano eruption could destroy the whole planet too. We can’t “fix” volcanoes.

I know everyone’s been shitting all over the entire program, but you have to admit that this is pretty amazing:
