Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
The difference between this album and the last one is that, while there was quite a huge adjustment to make with BS (PJ has gone pop!), there really isn't this time; they're still with BO'B and he's not going to turn into an Indie producer in the space of four years. So there's very little to be disappointed with by now, even if I understood all the rage last time (and joined in to some extent).

oh i agree. SW kind of has a 90s soft-rock vibe in the same way 'Down' does.

Ewww don't like the comparison. I'm not a big fan of Down though.harmless wrote:SW kind of has a 90s soft-rock vibe in the same way 'Down' does.
SW is so much better when you get ITW out of your head and just hear it as a PJ song. I've said it before, but it's my clear favorite of the bunch.

I like the song. But wait, I meant 'Undone', not 'Down.' But a similar thing; it's the alternative 90s rock that wasn't quite *grunge* but was still cool back then and isn't now.HardTI wrote:Ewww don't like the comparison. Yeah, SW is my favourite of these four as well.

I get what you were going for and you're right on =) I was just taking the opportunity to hate on Down (Although, during the song tournament that song actually grew on me a little).harmless wrote:I like the song. Man, I'm starting to have a bad feeling about SBM lately. I think it's going to be a super cheesefest.

Thing is I could always make excuses for PJ tracks I didn't like. I can't this time around. I should say that Getaway and SW are quite enjoyable.

I adore it so if the album version sucks I'll just replace it with the Uke version. Problem solved!harmless wrote:So do I.HardTI wrote:I get what you were going for and you're right on =) I was just taking the opportunity to hate on Down (Although, during the song tournament that song actually grew on me a little).harmless wrote:I like the song. So SW and LB are the 2 you don't like? In a way I'm glad to hear that since I think those are the 2 biggest growers.LetMeSleep wrote:Thing is I could always make excuses for PJ tracks I didn't like. I can't this time around. I should say that Getaway and SW are quite enjoyable.
