Wait a minute, after all the videos we've seen over the last week of cops across the country brutalizing protestors, you're comfortable with the police patrolling your kid's high school protest?

Permitted concealed carriers are significantly less likely to be convicted of a crime than cops. That might be less comforting after this past week with all the excessive force videos, but then recall that the vast majority of those cops won't be convicted for what we observed.

Concealed carriers are about the most law abiding cohort in the country.

In my town and knowing the type of people this call-to-arms will bring out from around here, absolutely. My next door neighbor is one of the city cops that will be there.

As bad as some cops have been, would anyone prefer to be guarded by these guys??

Exactly.
Without knowing the messaging that went out to them, I'm guessing their purpose is to protect businesses and ensure that the town doesn't burn if things get out of hand. They're not going to be tear-gassing and arresting high school kids.

So on the one side, the cops may brutalize you in some way, and you might get booked for a few hours. On the other side, you're guarded by trigger happy amateurs who have been waiting for this day their whole lives. Hmmm.
