Also, i have been watching that Mark Ruffalo HBO mini series. Its really well shot, its from Derek Cianfrance, but damn its so sad. Why this guy hates people so much?

The Flanderization of Moira Rose is pretty striking when you binge the whole of Schitt's Creek. Great character, but her lexicon went from "occasionally injecting a humorously incongruous 10 dollar word" to sounding like a grandiloquent time traveler.

Also, by season 5 Roland feels like a character that was originally intended to have a much larger role but the writers couldn't quite figure out how to make him fit into what the show became.

I wasn't commenting on his lack of character development, more that he seems forced into and tacked-on to the general storyline in contrast to how major his presence was in the first stretch of season 1.

Okay but just so we're clear I am both a more recent viewer and also generally more of an astute observer than you so I am right

Cannot recommend The Great highly enough.
Everything about it is wonderful. The performances across the board, the costumes, the art direction, the writing, set decoration, cinematography, the framing, pacing, the humor, the drama, the gore... all of it works in concert to make one of the best seasons of TV I've seen over the last few years.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
Thanks, doug, for pushing for me to watch it. I was mildly interested after I saw a commercial for it but I wasn't sure. It could have easily been terrible, I thought. But that was just a pure joy to watch. There isn't a single bad episode.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
You've mentioned it before. I didn't look it up because if I remember correctly you weren't too into the first episode. I have no idea what this show is. I'll do some research on it and see if it's something I want to pick up.VinylGuy wrote:I might watch it.
