Quite possibly my favorite version
I'm with you here, Clem. This version has everything. It's like a caged animal. It's fucking brilliant.
The best Jeremy I saw live was 7/11/03. I thought I was over Jeremy and then I saw it with some of the best fans ever to gather for a Pearl Jam concert. Jeremy held it's own, after that amazing preset and a really solid main set and 1st encore.
Yeah, MTV awards is a great version...Actually all of them are very good. Im a huuuuge fan of No Jeremy for example. I got that single and its one my favorite PJ related vinyl.
maybe someone who understands music better than me can explain this, but what the hell is happening with the vocal melody in the verses? the chorus makes sense, but the verses almost sound like free jazz or something. and the end is eddie just kinda yelling, which is someone of the best sounds in rock music, despite the lack of words.
