I don't think Stone is saving songs for his solo records or whatever. I'm sure he was thrilled that Ed wanted to sing Buckle Up.
PJ in this case includes Stone

Stone should let himself sing

We should ALL let ourselves sing. Sing the song of Life.

not technically an album, but his/their? rendition of Hunted Down is great. If an original song in that vein presents itself, they should definitely let him sing it.

Best case scenario for me would be to get the Ed vocals on the Pearl Jam album and for the demo to get the light of day in some other format....like the NAIS demo.

I’m still waiting to hear the Fatal demo with Stone on vocals.

Theory/question (semi-related) - why do you think Eddie's solo output is so much less than the other guys (and what is out there is somewhat gimmicky - not a comment on quality, but it's a soundtrack where he plays every instrument and a bunch of ukulele songs). I suppose it's possible he writes less and just saves everything for PJ (though he seems like he would be fairly prolific), but I wonder if there is an expectation that he not put out a conventional solo album so as not to draw focus from Pearl Jam in a way that the other solo albums wouldn't. Maybe that's one reason why he has the place he does in their creative process

I like the question, but I'm not sure it's that much less.

Mike has one great side project in Mad Season, which is far gone, and a few that feels like he has only a minor involvement, and subjectively are not great.

Jeff has been fairly prolific with side projects and now solo albums, but none of them have been huge successes. He's made stuff that is highly appreciated amongst many in the Pearl Jam fanbase though.

Stone has a couple of solo albums, mostly where he does stuff himself. Perhaps the best solo albums (again subjectively) from the band, but nothing that feels like it's competing with Pearl Jam for touring worldwide or billboard hits. Low key, but high quality. I love his Brad material. I do think and wish they had deserved more success. But Stone himself says that Brad is what he feels most guilty of, for not giving them enough time, like he has given Pearl Jam.

Matt has WWC and played in Soundgarden.

Into The Wild seemed huge at the time. Great job by Ed as well. An album I personally listen more to than several Pearl Jam albums. He's also been around here and there in concerts with other bands, or songs with a few artists. He also has a lot of control in Pearl Jam with what songs he chooses to sing on, so that probably plays a part. I don't think the band feels he shouldn't do solo stuff.

For what it's worth, between Vs. and Binaural, I always considered Stone's backing vocals to be part of Pearl Jam's sound, not unlike Mike Mills' on REM's records. It's not everywhere, but it's sprinkled throughout (the Betterman outro comes to mind). I *love* his vocals on Buckle Up.

I enjoy hearing him on occasion. I'd let him sing again!

i wonder if there is a limitation to what Ed is 'allowed' to do as a solo artist

the other guys are musicians and can play with other singers, or sing, and no one would think much of it

but if Ed writes songs and sings with a different backing band then everyone is gonna be like 'whoa what happened to pearl jam he left the band'

or maybe he has a contractual limitation that prohibits it

or maybe he is just sitting on a pile of stuff and would prefer to swim in his money bin

He said as much in an interview one time that he purposely didn't go there b/c it would be seen as threatening. In that context, both ITW and Uke Songs can be viewed as harmless one-off experiments.
