Yeah, if Biden picked a male VP at this point the election would be over because he would have eroded any trust in him after going back on an easy a promise as that.

He needs someone that is quick on her feet and ready to be president if need be and potentially strong enough to run in 2024. I have no idea who that is. It probably can’t be Klobuchar or Harris because of their backgrounds and records as prosecutors. Other than that, I am glad to not have to make that decision.

Eh, I've seen the polling that clearly shows Trump ahead of Biden on the general economy. But we've all seen evidence that the public trusts Biden more on plenty of other stuff, like race relations, climate change, healthcare, etc...

Sorry, let me rephrase: Donald Trump cannot won the election without expanding the number of Americans who feel welcomed into his tent from where it currently stands. His increasingly divisive approach is collapsing what little draw he had left among people not Republican/MAGA.

He needs MORE people to like him and want four more years of this than currently do. How is being divisive going to draw people into the tent who aren’t there now?

He already made his bed on this. Even if he were to suddenly be affable and encouraging to all people through November he will be working from the same pool of people. I think people are mostly decided and if they are not they are lying to you. This election is already won or lost. There’s not much point to the next 5 months.
