Wierd that they didn’t show gameplay for Spider-Man, but they did for Ratchet and GT.

Housemarque is one of my favorite developers. Hope this pays off for them.

Zelda clone looked fun to me. I’m guessing we’ll see Gods and Monsters preview soon. That was delayed so it could be a launch game.

I love the look of the console. It's so wacky and out there. Reminds of a Gamecube or Dreamcast design. Not sure how it will look when place horizontally.

Pros:
Horizon looked spectacular!
Resident Evil: Village looked like a return to more of RE4 feel.
R&C looked very promising. Probably one of my favorite franchises that I rarely acknowledge as such.
Sackboy and Kona appeals to the Nintendo fanboy in me.

Cons:
No Date
No Price
GTA5 instead of RDR2
Fugly as hell
No Gods and Monsters preview means this game went off the rails or the PS5 version is not improved over the PS4 version.

It looks like we'll need a horizontal stand (likely sold separately) or the console will sit crooked.

I highly doubt they will ship it without a horizontal stand included. I give them props for trying something different and not just doing a gray/black box again.

I was kind of hoping they would keep the black instead of white (mainly because of how white gets dirty and stuff so quickly), but I dig the design, I actually think it looks cool, but also wonder whether it can be stationed horizontally. If not, someone's going to have to modify their entertainment stand a bit....

Absolutely a Day 1 purchase for me (if I'm lucky enough to get a pre-order secured). Can't wait for that madness to begin....

Hey, I predicted they'd showcase GTA5! I guess I was wrong about Skyrim, though.

Consoles are rarely worth purchasing on day one. Lots to be excited about here in a variety of genres. Sony really brought it with this reveal.

Trying to recall my history. PS2 was a Day 1 buy for me. I didn't buy PS3 until like 2 years after release, probably for financial reasons. I bought the PS4 a year after release, bought the Pro not long after it was released. I'm more excited just to have a new box to stream everything through since I'm cutting the cord soon, more reason to buy this upon release if I'm lucky :bammer: .

I've purchased every console since N64 in 1996 on launch day. This will be no different.

The best thing about PS5 dropping is that all the PS4 games will get much cheaper, which is already happening. Nearly-obsolete Playstation gaming has always been A+, going back to when the PS2 came out.

So what are guesses on price? Seeing the digital edition makes me think $600 for the base. There was that article floating a while back that the cost alone was $450 for Sony.

I think the console is hideous but thats never stopped me from buying anything, as the OG Xbox One I have ain’t pretty.

I'm guessing the console will be $500 and the digital only edition will be $450 or something similar. No way they go to $600.
