COVID "task force" briefing for the first time in two months. Should be interesting, since Trump just said on his hannity interview that come positive cases are just "kids with the sniffles".
They're going to congratulate themselves on what a great job they are doing with testing and play it off like the huge number of positives were expected. Then, they will kick the can down the road by pointing to the lower death numbers, theyll figure out what to say about them when they rise later.
Kids with sniffles isn't even inaccurate to be fair. Hell, did any of the 16 NBA players that tested positive today even have symptoms?
The problem is the majority of this country is old and fat. If we were all kids and NBA players we would not have to give one single fuck about this thing.
We're heading up to visit family the week after next. Wanted to get the whole family tested before we go up. No one will test the kids unless they're symptomatic or exposed to someone who is positive. It's a great policy for fighting last week's fight.
Don't expect rates to improve any time soon.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?
Florida at almost 9k cases today, so they're closing bars again.

I did just that last night.
I wouldn't go to a nightclub yet, not that I go regularly. I've seem some clips of people who have been since they've opened back and it looks like business as usual

Stating the obvious at this point, but what a fucking joke it is that Texas has both failed to stop an outbreak and failed to keep hospitality industry workers paid.
Also, the optics of Abbott rushing to reopen before Memorial Day and rushing to close before Pride Weekend are...not great.

Philly just issued a mask requirement in public spaces and is looking to delay the move to "green phase." Numbers in other parts of the state that have gone green are slowly climbing.
