I need a Jeff or stone interview. I feel like they'd be the least likely to be down with all this pop nonsense (i made this up based on nothing). Jeff needs to lock bob in a box, and egg eds house, get him good and cranky again.

Im willing to bet cold hard monopoly money that stone wrote the bluesy parts of the song and either BoB suggested or ed just shoehorned that crap in the middle in. I'll give you park avenue and all my fucking hotels too.

Honestly stones voice lends a weird sarcastic quality to all of his songs, it probably would have worked better. But I'd have probably listened to it the same amount of time I did moonlander, exactly half a time. Still ain't finished it.

And btw, they all become much more fun if you just imagine ed dancing along to them.

Writing rock songs that are danceable really is difficult.
First time I think pj have really managed it.

Look at MYM -- a simple riff but it makes the song stand out... Even though it's punk (which I consider one of the more primitive sub genres of rock music), but it makes the song stand out!

If "Let the Records Play" had been on Moonlander I reckon I'd regard it similarly to "Witch Doctor"-- that is "feh, whatever, I'll probably never listen to it again". But it falters and falls down under the added weight of Eddie's voice and the band's patronage.

MYM is a riff-driven song, but the riff is just passable. I'm just not sure if they're that inclined anymore. Does Stone write huge chunky riffs for his own songs? I don't think so.
